Media registration is now open for SPE Offshore Europe 2023


SPE Offshore Europe will open on Tuesday, 5 September 2023 with industry leaders set to discuss crucial topics around the future of sustainable and equitable energy across the four-day event. The plenary session will comprise:

  • Kamel Ben Naceur – SPE Offshore Europe Conference Chair, 2022 SPE President and CEO of Nomadia Energy Consulting

  • The Rt Hon Graham Stuart – Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero

  • Gilad Myerson – Executive Chairman, Ithaca Energy

  • Gordon Birrell – Executive Vice President – Production and Operations, bp

  • Chris Weaton – Managing Director, Oil & Gas Stifel

  • Kjetel Digre – President and Chief Executive Officer, Aker Solutions 

  • Jarand Rystad – Chief Executive Officer, Rystad Energy 

  • Stuart Payne – CEO, North Sea Transition Authority

  • Dr Katharina Beumelburg – Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, SLB 

  • Maria Claudia Borras – Executive Vice President, Oilfield Services and Equipment, Baker Hughes 

The 50th anniversary edition of the conference and exhibition will feature 12 panel and 18 technical programme sessions covering key themes including the energy transition, the energy trilemma, carbon capture and storage, decarbonisation and digitalisation.

More than 800 companies and organisations are exhibiting and more than ten pavilions will feature groups of exhibitors from countries and industry organisations from around the world including Western Australia, China, France, Norway and USA.


The exhibition will feature the return of the Energy Transition Theatre and a new Energy Transition Zone. The show will also introduce ‘Towards Net ZerOE’ - a new colour-coded trail which will highlight exhibitors across all three halls who have a relevant solution to help accelerate the energy transition.

An Offshore Wind Theatre will host discussions on the role of offshore wind in the changing energy landscape and a Hydrogen Hub will showcase hydrogen technology and know-how helping the acceleration to a cleaner energy future.


The Energy Industries Council (EIC) will host a Collaboration Theatre which will examine the collaborative efforts of industry stakeholders to address targets and achieve set goals. Interactive sessions will discuss collaborative experiences across the supply chain on topics including Women in Energy, Addressing the Skill Gap, Decarbonisation Strategies through Technology, Driving Offshore Diversification and Integrated Energy Systems.


A series of Offshore Europe Talent Investment and Diversity Events (TIDE) will bring together programmes across the conference which share the common goal of supporting the future generations of the energy industry. Sessions will include events for school pupils, university students, young professionals and those outside the industry interested in joining the sector.


The Media Centre is located in Rooms 5 and 6, adjacent to the conference and meeting rooms. Work stations, Wi-Fi, charging points and refreshments will be available to registered media.
