Green Pin® Introduces The Green Pin® Bow Shackle SCP: A Smarter Approach To Compact And Secure Rigging
The new Slim Shackle combines a compact screw pin design with the added security of a cotter pin.
When space is limited, even a small design improvement can make a significant difference. With the introduction of the new Green Pin® Bow Shackle SCP, also known as the Slim Shackle, Green Pin® brings a fresh approach to shackle design, combining a compact profile with the convenience of a screw pin and the added security of a cotter pin.

Designed for restricted spaces
In rigging applications, connecting components can be challenging when access is restricted or space is limited. Conventional shackle designs may be difficult to handle in these situations, particularly when connections need to be assembled and disassembled regularly.
The Green Pin® Bow Shackle SCP addresses this challenge through its specially designed screw pin. The slim, hexagonal pin head stays within the width of the shackle body, creating a compact profile that helps reduce the risk of snagging on surrounding equipment. This makes the Slim Shackle particularly suitable for hard-to-access connections and confined working spaces.
The balance between speed and safety
At the heart of the design is the combination of a screw pin and a cotter pin. The screw pin allows for quick assembly and disassembly, while the cotter pin provides an additional safeguard against unintended pin removal.

Unlike conventional safety bolt shackles that use a separate nut, the Slim Shackle consists of just three components: the shackle body, screw pin and cotter pin. This simplified design reduces the number of loose parts that can be misplaced or dropped during handling.
The result is a practical solution that brings together ease of use, a compact design and an additional level of security.
Developed with practical applications in mind
The development of the Slim Shackle was driven by a practical question: how can a shackle be made easier to handle in restricted spaces without losing sight of safety?
The concept was developed by Aleksandr Ometov, Technical Trainer at Royal Van Beest, who identified an opportunity to combine ease of use with an additional level of safety. By rethinking the pin rather than the entire shackle, Green Pin® has developed a solution that addresses this challenge with a focused design improvement.
Available in four sizes, with working load limits ranging from 4.75 to 9.5 tonnes, the Slim Shackle can be used in both inline and side-loading configurations, in accordance with the product’s specified limits and instructions for use.
