Craig International commended for excellence and innovation in procurement

Oil and gas procurement specialist Craig International has been awarded a Northern Star Business Award for Excellence and Innovation in Procurement.

The company was presented with the award at last night’s black tie ceremony, hosted at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Craig International was commended for the launch of Craig Collaboration, a ‘win-win’ platform that helps oil and gas companies off-load surplus stock worth billions of pounds and purchase products and equipment they need at competitive prices.

Craig International joint managing director Steve McHardy commented: “We are honoured to be recognised for our continued efforts to provide excellence and innovation in procurement at the prestigious Northern Star Business Awards.

Launched in 2016, Craig Collaboration is a ‘win-win’ platform which helps oil and gas companies off-load surplus stock worth billions of pounds and buy products and equipment they need at competitive prices.

“Craig Collaboration has been years in the making. It has allowed us to streamline the procurement process to provide a much simpler, more accurate and less time-consuming solution, while reducing costs and waste.”

Accessed through an online portal and powered by Craig International’s bespoke SmartBuyer software, Craig Collaboration connects companies looking to sell spare equipment with those looking to buy. This allows organisations to eliminate waste from the supply chain and through the Energy Surplus section of the portal, realise value from the billions of pounds of surplus stock, much of which is sitting in costly storage around the world.

The system can be used collaboratively to allow the whole industry to pool resources, stock and spend to make significant cost savings, increase efficiency, avoid waste and enable greater standardisation.
