Ocean Business 2017 – the global ocean technology show combining an exhibition and programme of hand

Ocean Business 2017 is due to take place at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK from 4 - 6 April 2017. Firmly established as one of the most important international events in the ocean technology calendar, Ocean Business is FREE to attend and is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors from over 60 countries.

Meet face to face with exhibitors from across the globe…

At the very heart of Ocean Business is a three-day exhibition of more than 340 companies, bringing together the world’s leading manufacturers and service providers in the industry. The purpose built exhibition centre is located directly on the waterfront at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK and provides visitors with the opportunity to see companies displaying the very latest in the industry all under one roof and all free to attend.

New for 2017, first time exhibitors US based 3D at Depth, will showcase the success of their technology by providing real-world examples of how subsea LiDAR can increase offshore efficiencies especially in the areas of decommissioning and other applications where 3D mapping is critical to a project's success. Another exhibitor new to Ocean Business is Norway's Ecotone which has developed a unique system for visual mapping and monitoring of the seabed and installations, such as pipelines, drill sites, environmental mapping and sea farm inspections.

Get your hands on the latest technology and services…

More than just a static exhibition, Ocean Business provides visitors with a rare opportunity to test-drive equipment and systems with more than 180 hours of live, free to attend, training and demonstration sessions. Unique to Ocean Business, products and services are demonstrated in their real environment with sessions held on board vessels, in dockside waters, in a test tank and in classrooms.

Sessions held in the dockside waters will demonstrate some of the latest advances in autonomous vehicles with ASV Global demonstrating how to execute advance autonomous operations at sea and

Teledyne - Benthos / SeaBotix giving a live demonstration of a mobile vehicle based, subsea communication system. Other interesting sessions include Kongsberg Maritime presenting the latest developments in subsea inertial navigation, survey APOS and subsea monitoring and BluHaptics using Telerobotics software to deliver on the Lean Promise in subsea operations.

Keep up to date with what’s new and exciting…

Many organisations within the industry choose Ocean Business as the place to hold associated meetings. Attend a variety of seminars held by leading organisations in the industry from around the world and keep abreast of the latest developments in ocean technology. The NOC are hosting a programme of workshops, including a seminar about the support they have provided on the decommissioning of the 475 offshore oil and gas installations in the UK. All free to attend.

Running alongside the exhibition and workshops is a conference designed to keep visitors at the forefront of the industry. This free to attend conference will target maritime dual-use opportunities in autonomous systems and satellite applications, both of which are on a growth curve for investment, and are attracting widespread interest across public and private sectors.

Network and socialise with industry colleagues…

Ocean Business is well known for organising some very special social events and 2017 will be no exception. The social programme offers plenty of enjoyable events for informal and formal networking. On the night before the show opens, all exhibitors and visitors are invited for complimentary welcome drinks. On the first day of the show, the popular wine trail will be held in the exhibit halls and on the second day the highly anticipated gala dinner will be held at The Grand Cafe, one of Southampton’s most prestigious venues.

Discover a wealth of career opportunities…

Running alongside Ocean Business is Ocean Careers, offering advice and career opportunities within the ocean technology, marine science and offshore industries. Incorporating a mix of one-to-one meetings and presentations from industry leaders, Ocean Careers is an interactive event designed for all those looking to move into the industry. It is clearly becoming harder for many graduates,
