NEW HEICO COMBINATION MAKES WORKING WITH BOLTED JOINTS A LOT EASIER

Working with bolted joints in the field can be difficult enough and having to handle separate bolts, nuts and washers just adds to the complication but what if you could easily combine your chosen bolt with a locking washer, that would make life a lot easier wouldn’t it? The team at HEICO, manufacturers of the proven HEICO-LOCK® wedge locking washers, have done just that with their new HEICO-LOCK® Combi-Washer system. It is common practice to produce a SEMS screw which involves captivating a washer onto a screw or bolt in a 1 piece design. This is usually expensive and time consuming and requires specialist manufacture. The answer from HEICO is, as is often the case, simple. The HEICO-LOCK®

RECOGNISE THE TREND AT AN EARLY STAGE: DECISIVE ADVANTAGES THROUGH EARLY MONITORING OF INSULATION RE

Insulation monitoring devices pioneered by Bender, provide plant operators with reliable electrical safety technology which reduces the costs of maintenance, providing early trend results in monitoring the insulation resistance. The ISOMETER® series iso685 is proven across the globe and Bender has witnessed a very positive response following the launch of the new isoHR685. This device variant can measure insulation resistances up to the 10 GΩ range in subsea applications. Early recognition and quality assurance It is possible to counteract the sudden appearance of an insulation fault at a very early stage: The isoHR685 measures insulation resistances in a range up to 10 GΩ. The measured valu

SALT SPRAY CORROSION TESTING: CHAMBER EXTRACTION

Test chambers are designed to examine various types of materials in many different ways for a wide scope of applications. Chambers may be required to measure corrosion or to test components to destruction. Their primary function is to speed up the processes to simulate time in an environment. Finding the long term resistance to corrosion for various types of materials requires the speeding up of corrosion up by using certain substances. For example, a salt spray testing chamber would recreate the effects of a harsh offshore environment to evaluate the corrosive properties of supplies, such as, paint coatings and phosphated surfaces. This will simulate the effects of years of exposure to salt
