The Multigauge 3000 Underwater Metal Thickness Gauge, from Dorchester based Tritex NDT Ltd, is a simple, robust underwater ultrasonic thickness gauge designed to survive extremely harsh conditions that exist in the offshore and underwater industries worldwide. The gauge uses multiple echo which means measurements can be easily taken without the need to remove coatings.

 

The large bright red 10mm LED display ensures the measurements can be seen by the diver, even in poor visibility. The gauge is hand held for ease of use and due to its excellent performance, only one probe type is required. The single crystal probe can be used on all applications, including extremely corroded metal, with no probe zeroing.

 

The Multigauge 3000 has an integral battery with 55 hours runtime on a single 2 hour fast charge. In addition, the gauge can be easily upgraded to a topside repeater by simply exchanging the end cap. The gauge is supplied completely ready to use in a Peli case with all the necessary spare parts. As with all Tritex NDT products it comes with a 3 year warranty and free annual calibration for the life of the gauge.

 

Tritex NDT also offer ROV mountable thickness gauges, which fit onto most ROV’s, allowing measurements to be taken at 1000m and 4000m depths. The gauges have a user selectable RS232 or RS422 output. A dedicated probe holder ensures accurate presentation of the probe to flat or round surfaces with a 360° freedom of movement. Dedicated Communicator software allows datalogging of the measurements on a surface PC.
