Ecosse IP Unveils Three New Technologies at Offshore Decommissioning Conference
Ecosse IP Ltd (EIP), based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire presented at last months Offshore Decommissioning Conference as part of OGTC’s Tech Zone. EIP was one of twelve companies invited by OGTC to present new technologies for the offshore energy sector, including late-life and decommissioning.
The company, established in July 2018, launched its first innovative technology, Ambient Lifter (AL) in 2018. The patented AL is an innovative solution designed to transform subsea lifting and manoeuvring objects subsea. The company is already in discussions with several operators on deploying the AL for use in the decommissioning sector.
Dorothy Burke, Managing Director, unveiled the company’s latest innovations to the 400 delegates attending this year’s Offshore Decommissioning Conference, hosted by Decom North Sea and Oil & Gas UK, announcing the company’s newest technologies, MOWT, FLOWT and DRS.
Ecosse IP’s strategy is to design and deliver innovative products which will revolutionise subsea operations and deliver cost-effective solutions to improve operational efficiencies as well as delivering new approaches for lifting, manoeuvring and powering subsea assets and offshore platforms.
Mass of Water Turbine (MOWT) has been designed and engineered by EIP to harness kinetic energy from water.
Floating Offshore Wind Tensioning System (FLOWT), designed by EIP, delivers wind energy to offshore platforms.
Deployment & Recovery System (DRS) is a modular skid and basket system for the deployment and recovery of subsea assets.
Using a combination of these technologies ensures that EIP is on track to transform subsea operations with cost-effective solutions, saving the industry time, improving safety and reducing the cost of the decommissioning for operators.
