Tensile links on display at LiftEx 2016

DLM will be attending LiftEx this November showcasing our highly regarded and industry established tensile links. Our exclusive “DLM design”, Engineering team have been continually researching and improving our links to ensure they meet the highest quality and safety standards expected of the lifting and rigging industry. Manufactured from light weight aerospace grade aluminium these devices can be used in various tension load monitoring applications for industries worldwide and combine high levels of performance with excellent value. The key features of the tensile link are the ability to transmit to multiple handheld displays and vice versa, 2.4GHz license free frequency, high accuracy, 20

Safety and Quality Effortlessly Combined

Incorrect measurements and tool inaccuracies in all industrial sectors can lead to hazardous consequences not least of all risk to personnel safety. So ensure operator safety and minimise downtime with HTL Worldwide’s range of Torque Calibration rigs. A common misunderstanding is that only used tooling must be calibrated, when in actual fact calibration should also be carried out on new tooling to ensure accuracy is maintained from the beginning of use. HTL, a Global OEM of controlled bolting equipment, recognises the critical importance of tool calibration, and have therefore designed highly safe, premium quality torque calibration rigs to allow clients to entirely control their own in-hous

30 years of Renown Engineering

A North-East engineering firm celebrates 30 years in the business by looking back on its growth from a small fabrication company to a thriving business spanning 7 companies and 3 sites able to survive the oil and gas crisis. Renown Group started its journey back in 1986 when Messrs Rennie and Brown combined their names to create Renown Engineering. They fabricated high-strength armoured steel products to support the manufacture of vehicles for the defence industry. The current owners took over the business in 2005, when the founders of Renown retired. This change of ownership heralded a new phase of growth for the business. Renown Group expanded to a 37,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in

New technology solution to extend life of wind turbine towers and reduce failures

Aquaterra Energy and Proeon Systems have developed a cost-saving, integrated structural monitoring system to improve the integrity of offshore wind structures. With global offshore wind expenditure forecast to reach £210 billion over the next ten years, the offshore wind energy monitoring system will improve inspection and repair planning, and lower the frequency of offshore failures. It will also greatly reduce the need, risk and cost associated with inspection crews travelling to wind farm sites offshore. The collaboration is an amalgamation of Proeon’s sensor technology and Aquaterra’s capability in structural mechanics and analysis that will provide operators with accurate, informed, and

CAN Group flying high with new UAV services

Aberdeen-headquartered CAN Group has enhanced its inspection engineering service portfolio with the introduction of a new, custom-built unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system, CANdrone, to carry out inspections of assets on and offshore. The CANdrone system was developed for CAN Group to provide efficient screening through rapid visualisation and data recording. The UAV delivers high resolution 4k data capture and playback. The UAV system, which is Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved, can carry out live plant screening in challenging environments, providing visual inspections and structural assessments. Adam Byrne, CAN Group director, said: “The development of CANdrone for our inspection e
